Maggie’s Mile has been Re-imagined to a September S’mores for more 4k sunset run at sunken meadow state park, presented by the northport running club.

We’ll never forget you Father Time, how could we?
But from time to time, it’s good to switch things up a bit and so we reimagined our New Year’s Day Maggie’s Mile with a Fall S’mores for More 4k Sunset Run at Sunken Meadow State Park in September. Stay tuned for next year’s date soon!

5 years of Maggie’s Mile!

Maggie’s Mile has now been held for 5 years in a row, with 2021’s race being virtual due to covid. We are so thankful and amazed at the amount of support from family, friends, and our running community! We couldn’t accomplish all we do without you. Thank you!

The race is held on New Year’s Day and has always been a great way to kick start the New Year! We’ve endured really cold weather and enjoyed some beautiful, warm weather. But every year, people show up ready to run, race, walk, but most of all, have fun, no matter the weather.

Maggie wasn’t a fan of running, though as a child and teen, she was always active, ran many races, including a duathlon, and a Tough Mudder, shortly before becoming sick. Who knows? She may have grown into a runner as an adult. Sadly, we’ll never know. Out of all of the events we put on, the race never fails to inspire and is consistently a wonderful, positive day. It feels like Maggie’s spirit and love of children is sprinkled everywhere throughout the race and event. We love seeing everyone come together for a great cause. Maggie would be proud!
