Our guest speakers

Jamie Wrede, a local Harborfields graduate, affected by Osteosarcoma, will be speaking, as well as Dr. Alex Kentsis, who heads the research project we fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Dr Kenstis just returned from Poland where he was helping to evacuate children with cancer from Ukraine.

In other news…

Maggie’s Mission was recognized by Stephanie Bontempi, the Suffolk County Legislature at the May 17th general meeting with the presentation of an official proclamation. We are so proud Maggie leaves behind a legacy of L O V E + H O P E.

Sometimes, it feels like she is still with us.

We were eating dinner out the other night feeling the loss of Maggie immensely. The restaurant had been playing music Maggie loved in the last year of her life, and we just felt sad. But then, and this happens often, we woke up to a generous donation and touching email…

Hi, We saw your car in the parking lot of Ting. My curious 5 year old yelled with excitement “Maggie your car is beautiful!” I went to your website and read her touching story. I explained it best I could and he said…

“she’s my new friend, Maggie”
— A local Mom

How incredibly poignant. We thanked them for the donation and heartfelt, joyous words and were treated to another message. This is what our organization is all about - children, their wonderful innocence, and keeping them safe!

“I truly believe your beautiful angel is helping make children’s lives better in big ways and small. Today Levi, my son, said to me in the car “I’m on the lookout for Maggie” and smiled as he looked out the window.

Something about Maggie resonated with him and for that I am grateful.
