Our inaugural S’mores for More 4k Sunset run!
Our inaugural S’mores for More 4k Sunset Run, presented by The Northport Running Club, was off to a great start! Despite facing unexpected challenges posed by tropical storm Ophelia, the event turned out to be an absolute blast. With over 200 enthusiastic runners, our event boasted the largest turnout we have ever had for our free kids’ fun run. It was a lively atmosphere as participants of all ages gathered to support Maggie’s Mission and our quest to find cures and support families affected by pediatric cancers. Although we had to make a last-minute course change due to the storm, the spirit of camaraderie and determination was palpable among all the runners. From the moment the sun began its descent, casting a breathtaking golden glow over the event, it was evident that this sunset run was destined to be a cherished memory for all.

Storm clouds slowly dissipated by midday, as gold, pink, and purple hues began to spread across the sky and we bid farewell to tropical storm Ophelia. The sunset served as a testament to our collective strength, reminding us that no storm can ever extinguish the human spirit.

In a heartwarming tribute to the bravery and resilience of local pediatric cancer patients, we celebrated the extraordinary spirit of these young warriors. Through their courageous battles against illness, they have served as a reminder to us all of the power of hope and determination. Families, friends, and community members came together to pay homage to these courageous young souls. The atmosphere was filled with love, as the air was adorned with the sweet aroma of toasted marshmallows and melted chocolate - a true tribute to the s’mores that have become a symbol of our mission to inspire and support those in need.
Our S’mores for More initiative symbolizes the desire to bring more joy, more hope, and more support to these remarkable children, giving them the strength to fight for the brighter, healthier future they deserve.
